Uzbekistan, Germany discuss trade and investment ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On May 26, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Uzbekistan Manfred Huterer. The sides discussed the development of trade, economic, investment and technological cooperation between the two countries.
During the talks, it was noted that Germany remains one of Uzbekistan’s key European partners. The sides paid special attention to the current dynamics of bilateral trade and investment cooperation.
According to the results of 2025, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Germany increased by 13.2% and reached US$1.4 billion. Currently, 233 enterprises with German capital operate in Uzbekistan.
The sides also reviewed the outcomes of the Uzbek-German Business Council and the “German Economy Day in Uzbekistan” forum held on May 18. These events were noted as important in strengthening business ties and reaching new agreements between business communities of the two countries.
The parties further emphasized the importance of upcoming high-level bilateral meetings within the framework of the Tashkent International Investment Forum. These meetings are expected to provide additional momentum to the development of economic partnership.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to continue joint efforts in implementing reached agreements, promoting new investment initiatives and expanding long-term cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany.
