Uzbekistan establishes University of Journalism and Mass Communication

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- The University of Journalism and Mass Communication is being created in Uzbekistan.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution on establishing the University of Journalism and Mass Communication.

The new university will become a basic institution of higher education, which will train journalists, including international journalists.

The document said that the National University and the Uzbek State University of Foreign Languages from 2018-2019 academic year will stop training specialists in the field of "journalism". Also, the highest courses in journalism will be closed.

It should be recalled that in December 2017, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in his message to the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan proposed to create the University of Journalism and Mass Communication.
