Uzbekistan discusses world-class antifreeze production
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A working meeting was held at the Agency for Industrial Cooperation and Public Procurement with representatives of the American company Prestone PFX and Global Petrochemical Group LLC, dedicated to the prospects of organizing international-standard antifreeze production in Uzbekistan.
During the talks, the parties discussed the possibility of establishing a joint venture, transferring modern technologies, increasing the level of production localization, as well as supplying finished products to the domestic market and their subsequent export.
According to data presented at the meeting, Uzbekistan's annual requirement for antifreeze is approximately 19,000 tons. In 2025, more than 12,000 tons of such products were imported into the country, with a total value of US$11.23 million. According to the meeting participants, these indicators demonstrate a stable demand for high-quality coolants and significant potential for developing domestic production.
Prestone PFX specializes in the manufacture of automotive technical fluids, thermal management systems, and specialized chemical products. Its structure includes 17 manufacturing sites and four research and development centers, and its products are supplied to more than 40 countries worldwide.
Global Petrochemical Group LLC has been producing motor oils, antifreezes, and other automotive chemicals since 2011. The enterprise possesses a full production cycle, including the manufacture of polymer containers for product packaging.
Following the meeting, the parties noted that the implementation of the project will supply the domestic market with domestically produced items, reduce import dependence, attract modern technologies, and expand export potential in Central Asian markets.
Further steps for preparing joint projects, developing implementation mechanisms, and identifying responsible organizations and working groups were also discussed.
