Tashshahartranskhizmat Explains Bus Air Conditioner Issues

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashshahartranskhizmat JSC has commented on passenger complaints about non-functioning air conditioners on public transport, attributing reduced cooling efficiency to extreme heat and design features of part of the bus fleet.

The company said that 1,672 buses and electric buses from Mercedes-Benz, SAZ LE-60, MAN, Yutong and King Long are currently operating on Tashkent routes every day.

At the same time, 102 Mercedes-Benz buses currently in operation, as well as 100 out of 272 MAN buses and 88 out of 201 SAZ LE-60 buses, were not equipped with passenger compartment air conditioning systems by manufacturers.

The company noted that in Yutong and King Long buses and electric buses equipped with air conditioners, cooling systems are experiencing increased loads due to extremely high air temperatures, intense heating of passenger compartments by sunlight, frequent door openings at stops and high passenger numbers.

According to the carrier, under such conditions, even fully operational air conditioners may not provide their rated cooling capacity.

Tashshahartranskhizmat emphasized that reduced air conditioner efficiency during periods of extreme heat is often not caused by technical malfunctions, but by the natural operating characteristics of cooling systems under exceptionally high temperatures and reduced heat exchange efficiency.

The company said it continues to take measures to ensure the most comfortable passenger transport conditions and asked city residents to understand the temporary inconveniences caused by weather conditions.
