Uzbekistan, China Discuss Industrial Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Representatives of Uzbekistan and China discussed prospects for expanding industrial cooperation and implementing joint projects during talks held in Chengdu on 20 August, Uzbekistan’s Agency for Industrial Cooperation and Public Procurement said.
The talks took place as part of an international event focused on the development of smart manufacturing. Representatives of Uzbekistan’s Agency for Industrial Cooperation and Public Procurement participated in the event.
Agency representative Muhammadjon Islомkulov delivered a presentation on the agency’s activities, measures to develop industrial cooperation in Uzbekistan and promising areas for cooperation with Chinese partners.
The Chinese side presented Chengdu’s opportunities for developing international cooperation, as well as the city’s potential in high technology, biotechnology and advanced manufacturing.
Participants were also introduced to the activities of the Chengdu International Cooperation Center and the biotechnology sector of the Chengdu High-Tech Zone.
Chinese companies working in regenerative technologies, biopharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical robotics presented their developments and prospective projects.
A separate meeting focused on the organization of Comprehensive Bonded Zones (CBZ), special zones operating under comprehensive customs supervision. Uzbek representatives studied China’s experience in operating such zones, including their role in developing foreign trade, logistics, customs procedures and industrial cooperation.
Following the meeting, the sides discussed further expansion of industrial cooperation between Uzbekistan and China, establishing direct contacts between enterprises and developing mutually beneficial areas of interaction.
Particular attention was paid to opportunities for implementing prospective joint projects and applying Chinese experience in developing industrial cooperation.
