Uzbekistan Changes E-permit Rules for China Freight Routes
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has changed the E-permit system for international road freight transport between Uzbekistan and China, switching to a request-based permit issuance system.
National carriers are now advised to apply for permits only when they have a specific planned shipment and an actual need for the document, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport said.
The ministry warned that obtaining permits without a specific need, including keeping them “in reserve,” leads to unjustified use of the established quota and may limit opportunities for other carriers.
When submitting an application, carriers must accurately specify the border crossing points through which they plan to enter China and leave the country. After receiving a permit, carriers must comply with established freight transport rules, follow the declared route and observe requirements governing their stay in China.
Violations committed by carriers in Uzbekistan or China will be recorded by the relevant inspection services. If a violation is identified, the system will automatically restrict the carrier’s ability to obtain subsequent electronic permits.
The ministry also warned of possible technical disruptions during the implementation of the updated system.
In the event of technical problems, carriers must immediately report the issue, providing the company name, the vehicle’s state registration number or the application number.
The information will allow specialists to identify the cause of the error and resolve it.
