Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan discuss strengthening bilateral ties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Chairperson of Uzbekistan's Senate Tanzila Narbayeva met with Azerbaijan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan Rashad Mammadov to discuss the current state and prospects of bilateral relations.

The meeting noted that relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan had reached the level of allied relations due to the political will of the leaders of the two countries.

Particular attention was paid to the consistent development of interparliamentary cooperation, as well as political, trade and economic, investment, interregional and humanitarian ties between the two countries.

The sides noted increased contacts between lawmakers and stressed the importance of further strengthening cooperation between the relevant committees and interparliamentary groups of the legislative bodies of the two countries.

They also emphasized the need to continue exchanging experience in lawmaking and parliamentary oversight. The sides further highlighted the importance of mutual support at international parliamentary forums.
