Etihad Airways Launches Daily Abu Dhabi-Tashkent Flights
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Etihad Airways has launched daily direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Tashkent. The airline’s first flight arrived at Tashkent International Airport at 1:35 a.m. on 10 August. Uzbekistan Airports said.
The first Abu Dhabi-Tashkent flight was operated by an Airbus A320. The aircraft was welcomed at the airport with a water salute, while passengers and crew members received traditional Uzbek sweets and flowers.
A ceremony was held in the arrivals hall with representatives of Etihad Airways, Uzbekistan Airports and the Embassy of the UAE in Uzbekistan. Following welcome speeches, officials cut a ribbon to mark the launch of the new route.
Flights between Abu Dhabi and Tashkent will operate daily using Airbus A320 aircraft.
The launch of the direct service expands air connectivity between Uzbekistan and the UAE. Passengers will also be able to use Abu Dhabi as a transit point for onward flights across Etihad Airways’ international network.
Etihad Airways is the national airline of the UAE. The airline was founded in 2003 and is based in Abu Dhabi.
