Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s natural gas production system has entered a decisive 30-day phase of preparations for the autumn-winter period.

A meeting chaired by Abdulgani Sanginov, chairman of the board of Uzbekneftegaz JSC, reviewed the performance of the company’s enterprises and production units, gas output figures and measures to ensure stable supplies to consumers, the company’s press service reported.

Since the beginning of the year, the company’s enterprises have carried out substantial work to maintain stable production. At the same time, performance in some areas remains below expectations despite the availability of necessary reserves and financial resources.

Against this backdrop, the main focus will be placed directly on gas fields, wells and specialists responsible for production.

“Where are we making mistakes? What other measures need to be taken to achieve results? Winter is approaching, and our people need gas,” Abdulgani Sanginov said.

According to him, management decisions must reach every well and every field, while the effectiveness of their implementation should be assessed based on concrete results.

Uzbekistan to introduce KPI-based assessment in gas production

The meeting noted that the Mubarek Oil and Gas Production Department has already introduced a system for assessing the performance of employees responsible for gas production at specific wells based on key performance indicators (KPI).

It was decided to experimentally extend this approach to all production departments of the company.

At the same time, a task was set to support departments that maintain baseline production levels and prevent declines. A monthly incentive system is planned to be introduced for this purpose.

The main objective of these measures is to preserve existing production capacity, improve the efficiency of operating wells and halt the decline in gas output.
