Uzbekistan Becomes Third-Largest Importer of Russian Pharmaceutical Products

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has become the third-largest buyer of Russian pharmaceutical products, according to Anton Alikhanov, head of Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, in an interview with RIA Novosti during the Eastern Economic Forum.

According to Alikhanov, Kazakhstan and Belarus occupy the top positions, while Turkmenistan and Algeria also rank among the top five. He emphasized that Russian medicines continue to enjoy steady demand in international markets.

Currently, Russia produces over 85% of the internationally recognized generic drugs listed among essential and most important medicines.
