Uzbekistan Changes Heating Tariff Fixation Rules

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has changed the rules governing the fixation of tariffs for hot water supply and heating services for households when advance payments are made.

The fixed tariff period in such cases has been reduced from 12 months to 2 months, according to Veolia Energy Tashkent.

The company said the amendments were introduced to paragraph 95 of the Rules for the Provision of Heating Services in Apartment Buildings, approved by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 194 of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Under the new rules, when an advance payment is made, the tariff is fixed on the date of payment and remains valid within the limits of the prepaid amount, but for no longer than two months. If tariffs change during this period, no recalculation is made for services already paid for.

After the two-month period expires, charges for heating and hot water services will be calculated at the current tariffs.

The changes apply to heating and hot water supply services for the population.
