EU, Uzbekistan Strengthen Cooperation Under Erasmus+
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The European Union delegation in Uzbekistan, together with the Erasmus+ National Office, held an event in Tashkent for the Erasmus+ community aimed at strengthening academic and professional cooperation among participants in educational initiatives.
The event brought together Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees scholarship holders and alumni, students from other Erasmus+ programs, representatives of universities, government bodies, the diplomatic corps, and international partners involved in higher education.
Participants discussed the development of academic cooperation, student mobility, and the expansion of international educational exchange opportunities. Particular attention was given to strengthening ties between universities in Uzbekistan and Europe, as well as developing professional contacts among program participants.
European Union Ambassador to Uzbekistan Toivo Klaar opened the event and underlined the importance of Erasmus+ as a key tool for strengthening EU–Uzbekistan relations through education and people-to-people contacts. He noted that sustainable cooperation depends on investment in human capital.
The event also featured students recently selected for the Erasmus Mundus program, who will begin their studies at European universities this year. The meeting served as a platform for exchanging experience and strengthening the community of program alumni and participants in Uzbekistan.

Over the past twelve years, more than 2,700 students and university staff from Uzbekistan have studied or taught at European universities, while 137 students have received Erasmus Mundus scholarships since 2014.
