Uzbekistan and Sojitz Discuss New Investment Projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held a meeting on 18 June 2026 with Kosuke Uemura, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Japanese company Sojitz Corporation, who arrived in the country to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum.

During the talks, the sides discussed the implementation of the company's investment projects in Uzbekistan and reviewed its new initiatives.

Special attention was paid to prospects for further expanding cooperation in the fields of industry, energy, transport, and infrastructure.

Following the meeting, readiness was confirmed to provide support for Sojitz Corporation projects aimed at modernizing the economy of Uzbekistan and creating new production capacities.
