Uzbekistan and Jordan Agree to Deepen Partnership

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov held talks in Tashkent on 6 July 2026 with Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi.

The two sides discussed the further development of a comprehensive partnership between the two countries and the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level in Samarkand last year.

During the meeting, the ministers reviewed the schedule of upcoming bilateral events, including high-level and top-level visits. They noted with satisfaction the activation of political dialogue and mutual exchanges, emphasizing the importance of further strengthening coordination between the foreign ministries of both nations.

Particular attention was paid to expanding cooperation in the trade, economic, investment, transport, logistics, tourism, agricultural, educational, cultural, and humanitarian fields. The sides expressed confidence that the launch of direct flights on the Amman-Tashkent route, as well as the activities of the joint Business Council, will provide an additional impetus to the development of economic interaction.

The ministers also exchanged views on current topics on the international and regional agenda. They confirmed their readiness to further strengthen cooperation within the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement, and other multilateral platforms.

Following the negotiations, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in the consistent development of the Uzbek-Jordanian partnership and filling it with new practical content.
