Uzbekistan and EDB Discuss Expansion of Investment Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 18 May, a meeting was held in Tashkent between Bobur Usmanov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Nikolai Podguzov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank.
The talks focused on expanding investment cooperation and further developing interaction between Uzbekistan and the bank.
The two sides reviewed the current state of their partnership and discussed prospects for implementing joint projects, including in the infrastructure sector. Special attention was paid to practical aspects of the Eurasian Development Bank’s operations in Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the importance of opening the EDB representative office in Tashkent was emphasized. The move is expected to strengthen the bank’s participation in investment processes and accelerate the implementation of joint initiatives.
At the conclusion of the talks, both sides confirmed mutual interest in further strengthening cooperation, including the implementation of new investment and infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan.
