Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 14 April 2026, Director of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency of Uzbekistan Abdulla Azizov held talks with a delegation from Bayer, focusing on expanding bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector, exploring investment opportunities, and exchanging advanced international experience.

During the meeting, the Uzbek side presented an overview of large-scale reforms being implemented in the pharmaceutical industry.

It was noted that pharmaceutical clusters are being steadily developed in the country, production infrastructure is being modernized, support for domestic manufacturers is expanding, and conditions are being created to boost export potential and attract foreign investment.

Particular attention was paid to integrating research institutions, manufacturing enterprises, and educational organizations within a unified cluster system. The sides also discussed the introduction of innovative technologies, the implementation of high value-added projects, and the improvement of intellectual property protection mechanisms.

Following the talks, representatives of Bayer positively assessed the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, the investment climate, and the cluster-based development model, expressing interest in further expanding cooperation with the Uzbek side.
