Uzbekistan Airways launches direct Tashkent–Guangzhou flights

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan Airways, the national carrier of Uzbekistan, has launched a new regular flight on the Tashkent–Guangzhou route. The first flight successfully arrived at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport in China’s Guangdong province.

With the opening of the new route, the total number of passenger flights between Tashkent and Guangdong province has reached 12 per week. Flights on the new route will operate on Wednesdays.

A ceremonial reception for the inaugural flight from Uzbekistan was held at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. Representatives of China’s aviation sector noted that the launch of the new air service represents not only an expansion of transport geography but also a modern continuation of the Silk Road.

It was noted that the new route will contribute to further strengthening trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian ties between Uzbekistan and China, while also creating additional convenience for tourists, entrepreneurs, and business communities of both countries.

The expansion of Uzbekistan Airways’ international route network reflects the growing level of cooperation between the countries and increasing passenger demand for direct air connections between Central Asia and major economic hubs in China.
