Uzbek pharmaceutical industry produces goods for 46.1bn soums in Jan-Sep

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The pharmaceutical industry of Uzbekistan increased production of medicaments by 3.7% year-on-year to 46.1 billion soums in nine months of 2008, UzA reported.

Pharmaceutical companies of the country launched production of 40 types of medical products this year and are planning to start production of another 60 in 2009.

Scientific-research institutions help to develop production of pharmaceutical products, using local vegetable, natural and synthetic raw materials. Production of about 30 pharmaceutical products has been launched.
