Uzbek Lawmakers Study China's Poverty Reduction Experience

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation from Uzbekistan's Oliy Majlis visited China to study the country's experience in poverty reduction and rural modernisation.

During the visit, senators Kobul Tursunov and Sayyora Abdikarimova reviewed projects being implemented in Anhui Province.

They were introduced to practical approaches to promoting employment, creating additional sources of income through the use of solar panels, developing agritourism, home-based work and handicrafts, as well as mechanisms to ensure guaranteed sales of products.

As part of the visit programme, the delegation also held meetings with Chinese officials.

During talks with the leadership of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), the two sides discussed further development of people-to-people diplomacy, expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation, and strengthening interparliamentary ties between Uzbekistan and China.
