Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The State Museum of History of Uzbekistan will reopen after a two-year renovation. The official reopening ceremony will take place at 10:00 on 24 July 2026, the museum's press service said.

The museum will hold open days from 24 to 26 July 2026. During this period, citizens of Uzbekistan will be able to visit the exhibitions free of charge.

The museum was closed to visitors on 4 June 2024 for the renovation of its exhibition halls and repairs to the building's façade.

The State Museum of History of Uzbekistan is one of the oldest museums in Central Asia. It was founded in 1876 and marks its 150th anniversary in 2026.

Its collections include more than 350,000 exhibits, including archaeological finds, numismatic collections, manuscripts and ethnographic materials reflecting the history of the region from ancient times to the present day.

The museum was granted state museum status on 5 August 1994.
