Uzbek Labour Veteran Ibrokhim Khujayev Dies Aged 108

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Labour veteran Ibrokhim Khujayev has died in Namangan Region at the age of 108, the authorities said. A condolence ceremony for his family and relatives is being held today in the village of Mullakuduk.

Khujayev began his career in agriculture in 1943. He worked for many years on collective farms in the Turakurgan and Namangan districts.

In recognition of his many years of dedicated service, Khujayev was awarded the title of Labour Veteran and, in 2019, received the Fidokorona xizmatlari uchun ("For Selfless Service") Order.

During the mourning ceremony, Sodiqjon Turdiyev, Chairman of the Republican Council of the Nuroniy Foundation, senator and Hero of Uzbekistan, read a message of condolence from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed to the family of the deceased.

Shavkatjon Abdurazzaqov, Hokim of Namangan Region, also expressed his condolences to Khujayev's family and relatives.

He highlighted Khujayev's many years of service, his standing among local residents and his contribution to educating the younger generation, saying his memory would be preserved for future generations.
