Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – Today, the 50th anniversary meeting of the Council of Interior Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) took place in Minsk.
The meeting was attended by the Interior Ministers of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives from the Bureau for Coordinating the Fight Against Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Types of Crimes on the Territory of the CIS (BKBOP), the Executive Committee, and the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center.
Key issues of law enforcement cooperation within the CIS were discussed, including the improvement of interstate information exchange in the fight against cybercrime and the implementation of relevant interstate programs.
The ministers emphasized the importance of joint efforts in combating transnational organized crime, extremism, arms smuggling, and money laundering from criminal activities.
The Russian delegation was led by Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, who noted, "The decisions made at the meeting will contribute to the consolidation of efforts by CIS member states in countering transnational crime and ensuring public safety."
The participants of the meeting were also received by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
