Uzbek athletes win 63 medals at Islamic Solidarity Games

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Uzbekistan national team won 63 medals at the IV Islamic Solidarity Games, which was held on 16-22 May in Baku (Azerbaijan).

Uzbek athletes clinched 63 medals, including 15 gold, 17 silver and 31 bronze medals.

Athletes from Uzbekistan won medals in such sport disciplines as track and field athletics and pair-athletics (9 medals), boxing (5), sports and artistic gymnastics (7), judo and para-judo (10), karate (4), shooting (2) ), Taekwondo (7), tennis (5), weightlifting (9) and wrestling (5).

Uzbekistan took the fourth place in the overall standings among 57 countries after Azerbaijan, Turkey and Iran.
