University of Pittsburgh to Expand Cooperation with Ferghana
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Hokim of the Ferghana region, Khayrullo Bozorov, held a meeting with a United States delegation led by Christine Kasper, Dean of the School of Nursing at the University of Pittsburgh, during the V Tashkent International Investment Forum.
The sides discussed expanding cooperation in education and healthcare, as well as implementing joint programs between the University of Pittsburgh and medical universities in the Ferghana region.
The meeting highlighted the consistent development of relations between Uzbekistan and the United States, as well as the importance of introducing advanced American experience in training medical personnel and developing the education system.
Special attention was paid to training mid-level medical specialists in accordance with international standards, improving language training, and organizing professional development programs and internships in the United States.
It was noted that cooperation is already underway between the Central Asian Medical University in Ferghana and the University of Pittsburgh, and the sides are considering further expansion of this partnership.
Information was presented on the potential of regional medical institutions and ongoing reforms in the healthcare sector.
The Hokim of the region expressed confidence that the agreements reached will form the basis for a new stage of cooperation between the Ferghana region and the University of Pittsburgh in education and medicine.
