Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Trade turnover between Belarus’s Gomel region and Uzbekistan has increased threefold over the past five years, according to Ivan Krupko, Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee, during a meeting with a delegation from Ferghana region led by governor Khayrullo Bozarov.

Krupko said that special attention is being paid to the development of interregional cooperation, noting that Gomel region highly values its partnership with Ferghana region, with which it has signed an interregional agreement.

The parties maintain regular contacts, exchange official and business delegations, and participate in exhibitions and forums. Around 50 enterprises with Uzbek capital are registered in the region, mainly operating in trade, catering, and manufacturing.
