Uzbekistan market services rise 16.9% in H1 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The volume of market services provided in Uzbekistan from January to June 2026 reached 664,914.4 billion soums in current prices, representing a 16.9% real growth compared to the same period last year, according to the National Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics.

In January–June 2025, the volume of services stood at 539,045.2 billion soums, which was 13.3% higher in real terms than the previous year.

The statistical agency clarified that growth in current prices and real growth rates in comparable prices should be interpreted separately. The data is preliminary and may be adjusted in subsequent publications.

Tashkent generated the largest share of market services, accounting for 41.3% of the total volume, or 274,435.8 billion soums, with a real growth rate of 119.4%. Among the regions, leaders included Samarkand Region (47,293.2 billion soums, or 7.1% of the total), Tashkent Region (45,717.5 billion soums, 6.9%), Ferghana Region (44,161.4 billion soums, 6.6%), and Andijan Region (33,988.9 billion soums, 5.1%). The lowest volume was recorded in Syrdarya Region at 9,521.7 billion soums, or 1.4%. Relatively high real growth rates were noted in Navoi (118.9%), Syrdarya (116.9%), Tashkent (116.3%), Khorezm (116.3%), and Bukhara (116.2%) regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (116.4%).

The volume of market services per capita nationwide reached 17,325.4 thousand soums compared to 14,297.7 thousand soums a year earlier, representing real growth of 14.8%. Tashkent recorded the highest per capita indicator at 85,890 thousand soums, up by 16,652.5 thousand soums from last year. It was followed by Navoi (14,421.8 thousand soums), Tashkent (14,398.7 thousand soums), and Bukhara (12,108.1 thousand soums) regions. The lowest per capita indicator was in Surkhandarya Region at 6,869.5 thousand soums. Navoi Region led in per capita service growth rate at 117.1%.

Small businesses provided services worth 374,210.9 billion soums, accounting for 56.3% of the total volume with a real growth of 15.8%. The largest share of small business in the service structure was recorded in Ferghana (76.1%), Surkhandarya (75.1%), and Andijan (74.8%) regions.

In Tashkent, despite a relatively low small business share of 42.4%, the absolute volume of services provided by this sector was the largest in the country at 116,248.9 billion soums. The lowest figure was recorded in Syrdarya Region at 6,457.3 billion soums.

By economic activity, trade services made the largest contribution to overall growth, increasing by 14.9% and adding 3.9 percentage points to the overall indicator. Financial services grew by 26.3%, contributing 3.8 percentage points. Accommodation and food services (up 11.6%, adding 2.0 percentage points), transport services (up 14.7%, adding 2.4 percentage points), and information and communication services (up 22.1%, adding 1.7 percentage points) also made notable contributions. In terms of overall structure, trade accounted for 25.6%, accommodation and food services for 17.3%, financial services for 15.7%, transport services for 15.6%, and information and communication for 7.8%.

The volume of trade services reached 169,953.7 billion soums, up by 29,125.7 billion soums compared to January–June 2025, with retail trade accounting for the largest share at 41.5%. Accommodation and food services totaled 115,153.8 billion soums, with food and beverage delivery making up 96.3%. Transport services reached 103,936.6 billion soums, of which road transport provided 52.5%, or 54,589.5 billion soums.

Financial services rose to 104,232.5 billion soums, an increase of 26,399.4 billion soums in current prices, with a growth rate of 126.3%. Information and communication services totaled 51,942.3 billion soums, with computer programming making up the largest share at 48.2%.

In education, the volume of services reached 23,772.6 billion soums, dominated by higher education services (42.4%). Healthcare services totaled 11,256.0 billion soums, while real estate services reached 16,222.2 billion soums, 90.8% of which comprised real estate rental and management.
