Three Foreign Nationals Detained in Tashkent Drug Case

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Officers of the Tashkent Directorate of the State Security Service, together with the capital's Main Department of Internal Affairs, detained three foreign nationals suspected of drug trafficking. The operation was carried out as part of the "Safe and Healthy Country" preventive campaign.

According to law enforcement authorities, the detainees are Ukrainian citizens born in 1994, 1997 and 2001 who arrived in Uzbekistan on 12 June 2026. Searches of two houses in Tashkent's Yashnabad district, where they were temporarily staying, uncovered narcotic substances prepared for distribution through so-called "dead drops" in different parts of the capital.

According to forensic examination results, the seized substances were identified as hashish, mephedrone and alpha-PVP, with a total weight of 1.945 kilograms.

Law enforcement officers also discovered an additional 460 grams of mephedrone and alpha-PVP, which investigators said had been hidden in advance by the operators of an online drug store for subsequent distribution.

A criminal case has been opened against the detainees under Article 273, Part 6, Paragraph "a" of Uzbekistan's Criminal Code.

The suspects have been placed in pre-trial detention, and the investigation is ongoing.
