Tashkent Metro Transformed into a Joint-Stock Company
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The state unitary enterprise “Toshkent metropoliteni” has been transformed into a joint-stock company. As part of the reorganisation, a new charter, regulations on the general shareholders’ meeting, supervisory board and executive body, as well as procedures for remunerating the executive body, were approved.
Following the transformation, the company will operate under the name “Toshkent metropoliteni” JSC. The decisions were adopted by the general shareholders’ meeting, acting as the sole shareholder.
The company’s supervisory board includes Otabek Irkabaev, head of the railway transport department at Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport; Mushtariy Ashrmatova, chief specialist at the department for economic, financial and administrative regulation of enterprises in the transport and communications sectors at the Ministry of Economy and Finance; Rakhmadjon Karimjonov, head of the department for management of Special Fund resources and analysis of its areas of activity at the Tashkent Main Department of Economy and Finance; and Nodirbek Yakubov, deputy head of the department for coordinating appraisal and real estate activities at the Agency for Management of State Assets.
Rakhmanbek Usmanov has been appointed chairman of the board of Toshkent metropoliteni JSC. His professional qualifications, experience in the transport sector and management skills were taken into account in making the appointment. His employment contract as board chairman is for three years.
Usmanov has also been authorised, within the approved total number of employees, to make changes to the staffing levels of the company’s structural divisions.
Following the change in the company’s legal form, the management of the joint-stock company is required to inventory the enterprise’s documents and bring them into line with regulatory and constituent documents.
The company is also required to ensure continuity of activities assigned to the relevant areas and structural divisions in accordance with the new organisational structure, staffing schedule and distribution of responsibilities.
