Uzbekistan and Serbia to Expand Economic Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Serbia discussed expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation during online talks between Uzbek Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov and Serbia’s minister responsible for international economic cooperation, Nenad Popovic, on 13 August 2026.
The talks focused on developing trade, economic and investment ties between the two countries, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade said.
Particular attention was paid to preparations for the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, which is scheduled to be held in Belgrade in autumn 2026.
The sides also reviewed specific trade and investment initiatives and identified promising areas for cooperation, including pharmaceuticals, agriculture, the chemical industry, mechanical engineering, textiles and transport infrastructure.
Following the talks, Uzbekistan and Serbia agreed to continue joint efforts to expand bilateral trade and promote new investment and trade projects.
