Lens Preparing Offer for Uzbekistan Midfielder Rakhmonaliev
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — French club Lens is interested in signing 22-year-old Uzbekistan midfielder Umarali Rakhmonaliev, who plays for Azerbaijan’s Sabah.
According to Azerbaijani outlet 90plus.media, the French club has been monitoring the player for some time and could submit an official transfer offer to Sabah in the near future.
Rakhmonaliev played a notable role in Sabah’s successful season, during which the club won the Azerbaijani league title and the national cup. The midfielder was also among the team’s key players in Champions League qualifying matches.
At international level, Rakhmonaliev represents Uzbekistan. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is estimated at 1.2 million euros.
Lens’ interest in Rakhmonaliev has been linked to the club’s successful experience with Uzbek players. Uzbekistan national team defender Abdukodir Khusanov previously played for the French club before moving to English side Manchester City.
Lens was also previously reported to be interested in another Uzbek footballer, 19-year-old defender Bekhruz Karimov.
Karimov has since changed clubs, moving from Surkhon FC to Swiss side Lugano and signing a five-year contract running until 30 June 2031. Lugano announced the transfer.
Information about a possible Lens offer for Rakhmonaliev remains based on the Azerbaijani media report. The amount of the potential transfer and other terms of the proposed deal were not disclosed in the material provided.
