Uzbekistan Fish Catch Up 37% in First Half of 2026
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — All categories of farms in Uzbekistan caught 75.3 thousand metric tons of fish in January–June 2026, the National Statistics Committee reported.
According to the agency, the volume of fish catch increased by 37.1 percent compared with the same period in 2025.
The largest volume of fish catch was recorded in Khorezm region, where 12.6 thousand metric tons of fish were harvested over the six-month period. It was followed by Namangan region with 8.4 thousand metric tons, Tashkent region with 7.5 thousand metric tons, Andijan region with 7.1 thousand metric tons, and Syrdarya region with 6.5 thousand metric tons.
In Jizzakh region, the fish catch reached 6.0 thousand metric tons, in Ferghana region 5.8 thousand metric tons, in the Republic of Karakalpakstan 5.4 thousand metric tons, and in Navoi region 5.2 thousand metric tons.
In Samarkand region, 4.1 thousand metric tons of fish were caught during the reporting period, in Bukhara region 2.9 thousand metric tons, in Surkhandarya region 2.4 thousand metric tons, and in Kashkadarya region 1.5 thousand metric tons.
