Uzbekistan Expands Export Logistics to Kuwait and Syria

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has begun developing new international transport and logistics corridors to ensure stable deliveries of domestic products to the markets of Kuwait and Syria.

The initiative is being carried out by Uzbekistan's Embassy, which is testing alternative delivery routes to expand export opportunities for domestic producers.

One of the first results was the shipment of carpets produced by Samarkand-based company YEC Gilam to Kuwait's Montreal House Wholesale Co via the new logistics route. According to Turkish logistics operator Gulf Cargo, the new corridor enables cargo to be delivered to Kuwait within 15 to 20 days.

At the same time, Uzbekistan is exploring the possibility of organizing shipments through Iraq. Negotiations on the matter have been held with relevant government agencies and business representatives in the country. Iraq's Ministry of Transport expressed its readiness to conduct practical consultations involving interested organizations from both countries.

Work is also continuing to develop the Syrian route. Following the opening of Uzbekistan's Trade House and Distribution Center in Aleppo in May this year, new export contracts were signed, leading to the first shipments of Uzbek vegetable oil, detergents and household electrical appliances to Syria. Deliveries via Turkey take between 10 and 15 days.

The new transport and logistics routes are expected to provide more stable and competitive deliveries of Uzbek products to Middle Eastern markets and support further growth in the country's export potential.
