Uzbekistan, Poland Discuss Cooperation in Mining Sector
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Poland discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in geology and mining, including the introduction of modern technologies, geological exploration and investment cooperation. The meeting was held on 27 July at Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Mining and Geology.
First Deputy Minister Feruza Khamidova held talks with Poland’s Chargé d’Affaires in Uzbekistan Marian Pzhzedecki.
The sides also discussed participation in international industry events. Particular attention was paid to the Future Mining Forum & Expo, which will be held in Katowice, Poland, on 9-11 September, and the international GEOMIN-2026 forum, scheduled to take place in Tashkent.
Representatives of Uzbekistan and Poland expressed interest in actively participating in both events.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to continue dialogue on expanding cooperation in geology and mining, strengthen direct contacts and work on implementing promising joint projects.
They also discussed organising a separate meeting with the ministry’s leadership during a planned 2026 visit to Uzbekistan by a delegation of Polish mining companies.
