Mirziyoyev Attends Opening of Future Games in Astana

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the opening ceremony of the third Future Games international tournament in Astana, the presidential press service said.

The ceremony took place at Barys Arena. Among those attending were Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and other foreign guests.

Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the participants via a video message.

The programme showcased the tournament's phygital disciplines, which combine digital competitions with traditional sports and physical activity. According to the organizers, the format is designed to encourage young people to participate in conventional sports.

The Uzbek president welcomed the participants of the international tournament.

Earlier the same day, Astana hosted a summit on phygital sports attended by sports and technology ministers, heads of diplomatic missions and other senior officials.

The inaugural Future Games were held in Kazan in 2024, where the President of Uzbekistan also attended the opening ceremony. The second tournament took place in Abu Dhabi in 2025.

At this year's Future Games, Uzbekistan will compete in phygital football, laser tag and dance events.
