Tashkent Marks 25th Anniversary of Rossotrudnichestvo Office in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A ceremonial concert titled “Melodies of Friendship” was held at the Palace of Trade Unions in Tashkent to mark the 25th anniversary of Rossotrudnichestvo’s activities in Uzbekistan.
The jubilee event gathered more than one thousand guests and became one of the largest humanitarian events dedicated to the development of cultural and educational cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan.
The concert opened with a video address from the head of Rossotrudnichestvo, Igor Chaika.
Among the attendees were representatives of the diplomatic corps, government ministries and agencies, public organizations, cultural figures, youth, journalists, compatriots, and partners of the representation.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Uzbekistan Alexey Yerkhov delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of humanitarian cooperation in strengthening relations between the two countries.
Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Uzbekistan Irina Staroselskaya noted that over the past 25 years, the Russian House in Tashkent has become a platform for cultural dialogue, educational initiatives, and youth projects uniting thousands of people.
One of the key highlights of the evening was the premiere of a joint short film produced by Rossotrudnichestvo and students of the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK), dedicated to major humanitarian projects and the history of the Russian House in Tashkent.
An award ceremony was also held to recognize partners of the representation for their contribution to cultural and educational cooperation between the two countries.
Special attention was given to youth initiatives. Winners of the Rossotrudnichestvo grant competition were awarded during the event, with the final stage held at the mobile student forum “Time of New Initiatives.”
The winners included students from branches of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Saint Petersburg State University, and the digital technology school “School 21.” Their projects will be implemented jointly with the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Uzbekistan.
Experts note that the organization’s activities in Uzbekistan have become an important element of humanitarian cooperation covering education, youth policy, culture, and public diplomacy.
Organizers stated that the anniversary program also included a student forum, grant competition, theater project “Theater of Young Hearts,” youth quest “House Where Russia Lives,” and an artificial intelligence workshop.
Participants emphasized that the 25th anniversary symbolizes sustained humanitarian dialogue, long-term cultural interaction, and further development of joint initiatives between Russia and Uzbekistan.
