Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent discussed employment, household income growth and poverty reduction with a delegation from Kazakhstan led by Vice Minister of National Economy Baurzhan Omarbekov, the press service of the Tashkent City Hokimiyat said.
Deputy Tashkent Hokim Durdona Rakhimova presented her Kazakh counterparts with approaches used in the city to expand employment opportunities and increase household incomes.
Particular attention was paid to work with residents at the mahalla level. The sides reviewed mechanisms for addressing citizens’ socioeconomic issues directly at the local level, supporting entrepreneurial initiatives and creating new jobs.
Kazakh representatives were also briefed on concessional financing tools, employment support measures and initiatives aimed at expanding sources of household income.
The meeting highlighted the role of mahallas in the socioeconomic development of local communities.
Tashkent representatives shared practical mechanisms for targeted work with residents and support for small businesses.
Following the talks, the sides expressed interest in further exchanging experience and practical approaches in improving living standards, developing employment and promoting entrepreneurial activity.
