Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s kurash team won two gold and one bronze medal at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan reported.
Pokizakhon Kamoldinova won the women’s gold medal in the up to 78kg weight category. In the semifinals, she defeated compatriot Shohista Nazarova, who went on to win the bronze medal.
In the final, Kamoldinova faced South Korea’s Sumin Mong and secured victory to claim the Asian Games gold medal.
Another gold medal for Uzbekistan was won by Akhror Ziyodullaev in the up to 81kg weight category. He defeated Iran’s Ramin Ahmadzoda in the final to become Asian Games champion.
As a result, Uzbekistan’s kurash athletes added two gold and one bronze medal to the national delegation’s medal tally at Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
