Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent has begun testing a new YUTONG ZK6890BEVG electric bus on bus route No. 26, which runs between the Majnuntol mahalla and Oloy market. The one-month trial is being conducted under an agreement on the temporary transfer of the vehicle between JSC Toshshahartranskhizmat and Chinese company Yutong Holdco Ca, Toshshahartranskhizmat's information service said.

The electric bus entered service on the route on 12 August 2026 and is operating alongside other buses. Route operations are handled by the First Bus Depot.

During the trial, specialists will assess the YUTONG ZK6890BEVG's technical and operational characteristics under Tashkent conditions, as well as passenger convenience and the efficiency of operating the vehicle.

The electric bus is equipped with air conditioning and ports for charging electronic devices.

Route No. 26 connects the city's inner streets with central districts and provides passenger transport between these areas. Due to the characteristics of the route, 9-meter buses are used on it.

The trial will generate data on the electric bus's performance under urban operating conditions. Toshshahartranskhizmat also said additional information on the vehicle's operation on the route and the progress of the trial would be provided separately.

The testing is part of the company's efforts to develop modern and comfortable forms of public transport in Tashkent.
