Senators approve amendments to some legislative acts
It was noted that the law amends the laws “On Pledge”, “On Execution of Judicial Acts and Acts of Other Bodies” and “On Mortgage” in accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 27 July 2017 “On Measures for Basic Improvement procedures for the sale of property in the performance of judicial acts and acts of other bodies”.
The amendments are aimed at protecting the legal rights of minors. So, the terms of evasion from payment of alimony for support of minors or disabled children are shortened. If the parents fail to make payment, they can be attracted to criminal responsibility.
The document abolishes sanctions as fines form the Criminal Code, which will eliminate the negative impact on the level material support for minor children and prevent deterioration of the debtor’s solvency. The Criminal Code is also amended to release from responsibility if the alimony payers make full payment.
The Family Code is amended by the norm, which allows to make alimony payments in advance, including via providing immovable or movable property or other valuable products.
The document also amends some other legislative acts, which envisages participation of civil, research and polling institutions to prepare draft laws. The Senators approved the law.
