SCO Foreign Ministers Discuss Bishkek Summit Preparations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov took part on 24 July in a regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.
The main topic of the meeting was preparations for the upcoming SCO summit. Participants discussed the organisation’s priority areas, further development of multilateral cooperation, expansion of economic and transport-logistics ties, as well as current issues related to regional security and sustainable development.
Following the meeting, the heads of foreign ministries signed a number of documents.
During the event, heads of delegations also took part in a ceremony to jointly create a symbolic painting.
According to Bakhtiyor Saidov, the initiative reflects the common aspiration of SCO member states to further strengthen mutual trust, friendship and good-neighbourly relations.
Uzbekistan’s foreign minister expressed gratitude to Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev and the organisers of the meeting for the high level of preparation and hospitality.
