Saifullaeva Wins Gold for Uzbekistan in Sanya

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The national team of Uzbekistan has won its first gold medal at the VI Asian Beach Games taking place in Sanya.

Barnohon Saifullaeva secured victory in beach athletics, winning the women’s high jump event. She delivered the best performance of the competition, clearing a height of 1.85 meters.

The silver and bronze medals were claimed by athletes from China, both recording jumps of 1.83 meters.

Saifullaeva’s gold marks the first top podium finish for Uzbekistan at the current edition of the Games.
