Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — On 17 August, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
The leaders discussed pressing issues on the international and bilateral agenda. The Russian head of state briefed the Uzbek President on the main results of the Russia–U.S. summit held on 15 August in Anchorage.
President Mirziyoyev, expressing support for the agreements reached, voiced hope for a swift settlement of the situation around Ukraine.
The conversation also touched upon coordination efforts to maintain the positive momentum in trade and economic cooperation and to accelerate the implementation of priority industrial projects between enterprises of the two countries.
Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing active contacts and exchanges at all levels.
