President: Economy of Uzbekistan uses investments for US$180bn

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Uzbekistan used investments for US$180 billion during the independence years, the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov stated in his speech at the solemn ceremony dedicated to the 23rd anniversary of Independence of Uzbekistan.

At the same time, Uzbek leader added that US$60 of them were foreign investments.

Islam Karimov underlined that investments were used to diversify economy and creation of new capacities on production of competitive products, as well as expansion of potential of Uzbekistan.
