Mirziyoyev discusses expanding investment partnership with BlackRock

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received Adebayo Ogunlesi, a board member and Senior Managing Director of BlackRock, on 7 July 2026. The sides discussed further strengthening their strategic partnership, focusing particularly on cooperation in the fuel and energy sector.

During the meeting, the positive dynamics in implementing the company's current projects within Uzbekistan were highlighted.

The head of state outlined key priorities for future interaction with BlackRock. These include expanding partnership in privatization efforts, increasing the country's overall investment appeal, developing the financial market, advancing initiatives within the petrochemical industry, and making joint investments in artificial intelligence technologies.

BlackRock is a major international investment firm that specializes in asset and fund management, alongside providing various financial services. According to figures provided in the announcement, the volume of assets under the company's management reached US$14 trillion in 2026.
