Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A meeting was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan with a delegation from the People's Government of the Chinese city of Zhongshan, during which the parties discussed prospects for expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation.

The Uzbek side at the talks was represented by the First Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Davronbek Kurbanov. The meeting was also attended by Advisors to the Chairman of the Chamber, Alisher Shaykhov and Jamil Maksudi.

During the negotiations, it was noted that Zhongshan, located in Guangdong Province, is one of China's largest industrial and export centers. The city specializes in the production of electrical products, household appliances, furniture, textiles, and high-tech products.

Special attention was paid to the town of Guzhen, which is part of Zhongshan. It is known as the "lighting capital of China," supplying about 70% of the country's domestic market for lighting equipment. The products manufactured there are exported to more than 140 countries and regions worldwide.

The parties reviewed matters concerning increasing mutual trade, attracting investments, boosting export supplies, developing interregional partnerships, and strengthening direct contacts between entrepreneurs.

In addition, the participants of the meeting discussed the development of industrial cooperation, the implementation of joint investment projects, the organization of business missions and exhibitions, as well as the expansion of practical interaction between the business circles of Uzbekistan and China.

Following the talks, the sides confirmed their readiness to continue developing cooperation, implement promising joint projects, and bring the interaction between the business communities of Uzbekistan and Zhongshan to a new level.
