Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russian office of Uz-Daewoo, uniting distributor network of GM Uzbekistan in the CIS, plans to realize several measures to stimulate sales and overcome crisis situation in Ukraine.
About 90% of banks do not offer auto crediting, while existing banks provide auto crediting with high interest rate (25-30% APR) and debtors should pay 30-50% of car cost plus commission fee. This resulted in decrease of car sales on credit. Ukraine also increased custom duties, which resulted in rise in prices to cars. All these factors decreased Ukrainian car market by 57%.
Uz-Daewoo plans to expand number of official dealers and introduce special crediting programmes, leasing and services to strengthen the company’s position in the market.
Currently, GM Uzbekistan cars traded in nine countries of the CIS, including Russia, Moldavia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
