Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Office of the Presidential Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights and Legitimate Interests of Entrepreneurs has secured the cancellation of a fine imposed on a Tashkent company, the office’s press service reported.
The head of P.P. company appealed to the business ombudsman after being fined for allegedly violating waste disposal rules.
The case followed a decision by a National Guard officer who determined that the company’s employees had dumped waste near a pharmacy in Yunusabad district. However, the site where the waste was found did not belong to the company.
Before the interaction began, the entrepreneur requested that the contact be registered in the Unified State Control system using the “Business Protection” QR code. The National Guard officer ignored the request.
Despite this, the officer drew up an administrative report against the company’s head under Article 91-1 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, which establishes liability for dumping waste in an unauthorized location. The entrepreneur was fined 20.6 million soums.
The business ombudsman’s office reminded that government officials are required to register all contacts with business representatives in the Unified State Control system, including interactions that are not part of a formal inspection.
The relevant procedure was established by a presidential decree adopted in April this year.
To address the violations identified, the business ombudsman submitted a formal request to the Tashkent Department of the National Guard.
Following an internal investigation, the fine imposed on the entrepreneur was cancelled. The officer responsible for the violations was subjected to disciplinary action.
