Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – Managing or storing to distribute materials aimed at creating panic among the population is punishable by a fine from 44 million 600 thousand soums to 89 million 200 thousand soums or correctional labor for up to 3 years or restriction of freedom from 1 year to 3 years or imprisonment up to 3 years.

The dissemination of any form of information and materials aimed at creating panic among the population is punishable by a fine from 66 million 900 thousand soums to 89 million 200 thousand soums or restriction of liberty from 3 to 5 years or imprisonment from 3 to 5 years.

The above actions committed:

- by prior agreement or by a group of persons;

- using official position;

- using financial or other material assistance received from religious organizations, as well as from foreign states, organizations and citizens;

- using the media or telecommunications networks, as well as the world wide Internet, are punishable by imprisonment of from 5 to 8 years.
