Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation of specialists from Uzbekhydroenergo JSC is in China as part of a research and technical experience exchange programme. The delegation is studying the use of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in hydropower, information security and the development of smart hydropower plants.

As part of the practical programme, the delegation visited the Yinglianbao Hydropower Plant on the Dadu River in Sichuan Province. The specialists reviewed the use of digital control systems, automation, smart monitoring and information security solutions.

The visit also includes an exchange of practical experience in the effective operation of digital technologies and data protection.

The Yinglianbao Hydropower Plant has an installed capacity of 1,116 MW. It is equipped with four main hydroelectric units, each with a capacity of 270 MW, and an additional 36 MW unit. Routine maintenance is currently being carried out on the 36 MW generator.

A diversion tunnel about 15 km long has been built at the plant to divert water. The powerhouse is located underground.

The Yinglianbao Hydropower Plant is one of the major energy facilities in the cascade on the Dadu River. Studying its experience allows Uzbek specialists to examine the application of digital and smart solutions in modern hydropower.

The adoption of Chinese experience in this area is expected to contribute to the digital transformation of Uzbekhydroenergo JSC, expand the use of artificial intelligence technologies and strengthen information security.
