Number of registered legal entities in Uzbekistan exceeds 272,500

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Number of registered legal entities in Uzbekistan made up 272,500 units as of 1 October 2014, of which 245,200 units or 90% are operating, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said quoting the Single State Registrar of Enterprises and Organizations.

Largest number of the enterprises is registered in trade and catering (28.3% of total registered enterprises), industry (17.3%), construction (8.9%) and agriculture and forestry (8.3%).

Share of non-governmental enterprises in total number of registered companies made up 85.5%, of which 33.6% - private enterprises, 1.8% - enterprises with foreign capital and 50.1% - other enterprises.

The committee said that number of registered enterprises made up 20,900 units in January-September 2014 (including 20,200 units of small businesses), of which 24.1% of them registered in Tashkent city, 10% - Tashkent region, 8.7% - Ferghana region, and 7.5% in Samarkand region.

About 28.6% of newly registered enterprises fell to share of trade and catering, 25.3% - industry, and 12.2% - construction.

In the reporting period, about 15,100 enterprises and organizations were liquidated, of which 4,400 were liquidated on voluntary bases.
